Hal Blackman is the president, chief executive officer and founder of IST Management Services, Inc. He has more than 24 years experience in sales and management. Hal’s vision is to create a diverse, global technology and service-based company that is focused and passionate about exceeding client expectations while simultaneously reducing their costs. Hal has built IST into a national company serving all major vertical markets from east to west coast with specialization on legal and corporate support infrastructures.
Concurrently, IST has remained the partner of choice for organizational support services boasting a 90% client retention rate since IST's inception in 1997. A cum laude graduate of West Virginia University, he holds a bachelor of science degree in business administration, with a specialization in human resources. Hal lives in Fayetteville, Georgia, and his sons, Joshua and Sean, both graduated from the Naval Academy and are serving in the US Navy.

Hanging with Hal
Chester Nimitz, fleet admiral of the United States Navy, played a major role during World War II and the battle for the Pacific on land, sea, and air. He once said, “Some of the best advice I’ve had comes from junior officers and enlisted men.” This month we observe Veterans Day and pay tribute to all American veterans, living or dead, but especially those living veterans who served during war or peacetime. I am proud of both of my sons who graduated from the Naval Academy and served with honor. I am proud of all of our men and women who served, and especially those who are now employees of IST . Thank you for your service! As part of our way of giving back, IST is involved with several programs to help both veterans and military spouses on the career front. Through the efforts of Hannah Wells and Sydney Ayers we developed the GEMS program which stands for “Gainful Employment for Military Spouses.” This program is designed to hire military spouses. With our operations in 40+ cities nationally and nearly 2,000 positions, this program is a perfect match since military spouses are often transferred to different parts of the country. Since IST is completely standardized in our field operations, employees can transfer to different sites without skipping a beat. The IST’s GEMS program offers military spouses flexible, portable, and secure careers no matter where military life takes them. We have hired seven military spouses throughout the country since we started the GEMS program.
Great Strides is the main vehicle for raising donations for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Over 125,000 people participate in walks across the country including IST. We currently have over 130 registered walkers. Our goal is to get 200 walkers and have each walker raise $200 in donations. So far, we are off to a good start.

IST and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
IST is excited to walk alongside the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and Great Strides to help a young boy named Blake fight Cystic Fibrosis. Blake is a very active 11-year-old attending 6th grade and loving every minute of it. Blake was diagnosed with
Cystic Fibrosis at the age of 6 weeks after his newborn screening came back positve for CF. He takes all of his medication like a champ, but in the end, he’s just a regular boy.
Blake uses his airway clearance vest twice a day for 20+ minutes. He swallows 33 pills on an average “healthy” day. Blake completes a nebulizer breathing treatment twice a day for about ten mintues. At times, Blake coughs so hard he can’t even breathe. During these times he also takes a couple of rounds of antibiotics and does additional breathing treatments.
Cystic Fibrosis is an inherited chronic disease that affects the lungs and digestive system of about 30,000 children and adults in the United States.It clogs the lungs and obstructs the pancreas and stops natural enzymes from helping the body break down and absorb food.
IST has been raising money and awareness for Blake since he was 4 years old. Help us add tomorrows to Blake’s future.
